According to MacTigue, Macdara’s Grille is preparing for an early June opening. Though the restaurant will serve American fare, the Irish MacTigue has promised that there will be Guinness on draught.

In a list released by Washington Business Journal, Rockville-based Cava came in third. Cava had 50 restaurants overall (not including their full-service restaurants) and 27 in the metro area.
California Tortilla, also based in Rockville, has 47 total locations with 25 in the metro area.
Earlier this month they closed their only MoCo location (Montgomery Mall). Menchie’s opened last February and made it about 15 months before closing.

Kustom Pizza & Subs announced that they are fully vegan as of May 18th, 2018.
The sign on the door states that the new owner will continue to sell beer and wine and will switch to Ethiopian food going forward.

Last February the company announced that they’d be closing 50 stores nationally. At the time, there were 6 MoCo locations. Now there are just three– Kentlands, Germantown, and Rockville.

This summer MoCo residents have a new weekend happy hour hangout where they can dip their toes in the sand, enjoy an Orange Crush Cocktail (it is the beach cocktail) and relax at The Beach at Pike & Rose. They don’t need to drive 3+ hours to the Maryland or Delaware shore for this fun beach destination – it’s in their backyards.
Open daily, The Beach is a place to meet for lunch, play games and relax. On weekends it will feature the Beach Bar, hosted by Ridgewells Catering and offer beach inspired cocktails, beer and wine, as well as light snacks.
