The Rockville location will be their first on the east coast and will be joining Cava and Honeygrow at Montrose Crossing. These very strong fast casual restaurants will quickly help us forget about Timpano Italian Chophouse, the restaurant that was demolished to make way for the current structure that is home to the fast-casual eateries.

Slapfish is planning on opening over a dozen Mid-Atlantic locations in the coming years. The Montrose Crossing location in Rockville will open in the late spring/early summer.

The renovation of the theater to include reclining seats, upgrades concession offerings, etc. will start soon. It appears as though AMC is upping their game ahead of the Cinepolis Luxury theater that is supposed to arrive just a couple miles down the street in the Kentlands later this year (November 2018). AMC will remain open during renovations.

Earlier this week we broke the news that Dave & Buster’s officially executed the lease with Rio. They are still in the process of acquiring all of the proper permits, but according to the e-mail it is expected to open sometime in 2019.

We’re working with Growlers to let everyone know about all of the great things that are happening since GM Jon Thompson took over at the start of 2018.

We ordered the bacon, egg, and biscuit breakfast. The buttermilk pancakes (3) with eggs and bacon, chorizo burger (my groups favorite), and the fried green tomato Benedict. Also pictured are the Bloody Mary and the Prosecco Punch.

Many call the Sunshine Burger from the Sunshine General Store in Brookeville (some call the area Sunshine, between Olney and Damascus) the best burger in Maryland– but not everyone agrees…

I think it’s a very good burger. I can’t definitively tell you it’s the best in MoCo or Maryland without doing more research, but many will tell you that it doesn’t get better than the Sunshine Burger. When I made a post this past summer, referring to it as the best burger in Maryland, Olympic gold medalist Kyle Snyder disagreed. “Couldn’t be more wrong” he tweeted. “Overpriced burger that is a 6/10 at best. The high expectations I had for it hurt the rating” he continued.

Poki District, Gong Cha (bubble tea), and Cheers Cut (fried chicken and seafood) will all be involved with The Spot. The 6,200 square foot food hall is still looking for a few more vendors.

The Spot will open next summer at the Metropolitan, a mixed-use Development near Rockville Town Square.
