Taco Bamba is Coming to MoCo!
Chef Victor Albisu announces that the first Maryland location of Taco Bamba will open in Rockville’s Congressional Plaza in Spring 2021. The cult favorite takeout taqueria’s sixth location will be located at 1627 Rockville Pike in a 2,766-square-foot space designed by Swatchroom’s Maggie O’Neill.
Remember BD’s Mongolian BBQ in Bethesda?
Today we remember BD’s Mongolian BBQ. The Midwest restaurant chain had just one DC area location– at 7201 Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda.
In late 2019 it was announced that Quincy’s Bar and Grille would be opening a Potomac location in Potomac Woods Plaza, taking over the old Amici Miei location next to Brooklyn’s Deli.
This weekend we were told that Quincy’s Potomac will have its opening on Monday, January 18th. They will hold a special soft opening for MoCoShow readers comfortable eating in their heated outdoor tent on Saturday, January 16th and Sunday, January 17th.
Progress at Mezeh Mediterranean Grill in Germantown
Mezeh Mediterranean Grill opened its first place in Annapolils, Md in 2013. It’s a fast-casual eatery with a buffet-style of offerings that include rice and salad bowls, wraps and a variety of sauces and toppings that are very similar to national chain Cava.
Burger King on Shady Grove Road Temporarily Closed
The Burger King located at 16004 Shady Grove Rd is temporarily closed for renovations. We will let you know when we hear a reopening date.
Krazy Steve’s in Silver Spring to Close

Vine Alley is coming to 114 Market. St, the former home of Wine Harvest in Kentlands. The “beer & wine bistro” is being opened by the owners of Brew & Barrels, also located in Kentlands.

A new Ethiopian restaurant is coming to Silver Spring. Source of the Spring reports that Shalla Restaurant and Bar will be taking over the former Balagger restaurant space located at 8081 Georgia Ave.
