Bun’d Up, a restaurant that puts a modern, Korean twist on the original Taiwanese “gua bao” with handmade buns, local produce, and sustainably raised meat from Springfield Farm, is coming to The Block in Pike & Rose. The handmade buns have been available at pop ups across the metro area, including a food truck pop up at 204 Woodmoor Dr., a pop up at the Fenwick apartments on 2nd Avenue in Silver Spring, and a pop-up in Bethesda at 5601 Durbin Rd.

The menu typically consists of various buns and bowls. Bun’d Up will be available for carry-out at The Block starting Thursday, January 14th.

2020 has been a difficult year for restaurants. A few weeks ago we released a list of restaurants that have closed since March 17th.(not necessarily due to Covid, but since the day the initial restrictions were put in place).

While that list is long, there are still plenty of restaurants planning to open in MoCo in 2021.

These tournaments are a fun way to shine a little light on local restaurants.⁣ We urge you to support your favorites and consider refraining from badmouthing any restaurant.⁣⁣ Voting takes place in the @TasteMoCo Instagram story, and each round lasts for 24 hours. The result of every matchup can be found in the “Best Pizza” highlight.⁣

We included every restaurant that was nominated. We did not include any restaurant that has most of its locations outside of MoCo, unless it started in MoCo. If a restaurant isn’t included, it’s for one of the two reasons mentioned.
