Greene a Turtle Germantown (19961 Century Blvd) has closed permanently.
We received confirmation from Greene Turtle in Burtonsville earlier today.
Juicy Seafood will open in Plaza Del Mercado (Silver Spring) on August 3rd.
The restaurant will offer Cajun style seafood boils and other seafood dishes with different kinds of sauce to choose from like Garlic Butter, Lemon Pepper, Cajun, and the Juicy Special.
Bonchon is Now Open in The Kentlands
Last May we told you that Bonchon would be opening a Kentlands location and just over 14 months later, it has opened (according to a “Now Open” banner the restaurant has placed on the building, photo courtesy of David Peikin).
Little Miner Taco is opening a new stall at The Block in Pike & Rose! We stopped by today for a soft opening event to check out some of what they’re planning to offer. Their grand opening is tomorrow, July 15 at 2 PM– they have announced that the first 100 customers will get a free T-Shirt!
Little Miner Taco currently has a location in Brentwood, MD as well as a traveling truck that hosts pop up events all around the DMV. Little Miner is best known for their Birria De Res Quesadillas which have braised beef and cheese along with a signature beef consome dipping sauce. These will appear at their location at The Block, along with a variety of exclusive new items.
Opening for Olney Beer & Wine Not Clear Yet
Olney Beer & Wine, located in the Olney Village Center, is entering the next stages of development, though an official opening date has not been set yet.
Addie’s in Potomac has closed permanently.
Its owner, Black Restaurant Group, says they have no intentions to reopen the restaurant for the foreseeable future.
The Pike Center restaurant was the all-you-can-eat chain’s last remaining location in Montgomery County after the Gaithersburg location closed a few years back. There are still nearby locations in Frederick and Hagerstown (Hagerstown is currently listed as temporarily closed).
Pike Center in Rockville has recently lost Pier 1 Imports and Bagel City.
MoCo businesses receive approximately $2.5 billion in federal COVID-19 relief funds
17,323 MoCo businesses received loans from the Small Business Association’s Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). Congress passed the PPP in early April to boost small business damaged by the pandemic.
Don Pollo Chicken opening soon in Downtown Silver Spring.
The local chain will open their Ellsworth Ave. restaurant in about three weeks. Don Pollo currently has five MoCo locations: Glenmont, Briggs Chaney, Rockville, Bethesda, and Germantown.
The Montgomery County Government recently announced that they have made visits to 1,900 MoCo businesses to ensure that safety procedures are being followed. Two hookah lounges, a bar, and a restaurant have been closed for not properly following opening guidelines.
