Haagen Dazs will close its Bethesda Row location on July 31st, according to an employee at the shop.

The ice cream shop, which has been there for about a decade, will be replaced by a Chaia Tacos pop-up. Chaia currently has two locations in D.C. and will be bringing their vegan tacos to Bethesda Row.

Chaia Tacos, which has two locations in Washington, DC, has announced they will be opening a pop-up shop at 7237 Woodmont Avenue in Bethesda, the former site of Häagen-Dazs.

A few of the taco varieties they serve include braised mushroom, kale & potato, roasted eggplant, and chipotle sweet potato hash.  The menu does not feature Impossible/Beyond style meat substitutes. According to Bethesda Beat, the food will be prepared at their Chinatown location and then brought to the Bethesda restaurant. Chaia hope to open by the fall.

“We want you to feel at home inside Salt & Sundry and find inspiring items to make your own home more of what you dream it to be. In addition to being a go-to source for gorgeous tableware, home furnishings and gifts, Salt & Sundry regularly hosts special events.”

Planta, an Upscale Plant-Based Restaurant, is Now Aiming for a Fall Opening

Back in January we told you that Planta, an upscale plant-based restaurant featuring a menu by Chef David Lee, will be coming to 4910Elm St at Bethesda Row, in the location formerly occupied by Cafe Deluxe (Cafe Deluxe closed permanently back in March of last year).

Located in the iconic shopping area of Bethesda Row in Bethesda, Maryland, the 2,000 square foot store will stay true to Johnny Was’ timeless style, artistry, and authenticity. Upon entrance guests are greeted with brightly colored floor to ceiling nature-inspired murals by artist Chris Lord, Italian tile floors, marble tables, oak fixtures with bronze hardware, and a mix of custom and antique furniture.
