The Montgomery County Education Association (MCEA) has voiced profound concern over disruptions to educator pay, stemming from issues with Montgomery County Public Schools’ (MCPS) new payment platform, MCPS Hub+. The union has filed a class action grievance against the school system in response to ongoing problems, the latest of which has left some employees without timely compensation. The Montgomery County Council held a hearing on Monday, July 28, to review Expedited Bill 19-25, which proposed a seasonal exemption allowing landscape professionals to use gas-powered leaf blowers from October 1 to December 31, weekdays between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., with the exemption set to expire three years after enactment. King Arthur Baking Company at the Shops at Wildwood, located at 10207 Old Georgetown Rd has announced it will hold its grand opening on Saturday, August 2. This space, formerly home to Indigo Octopus until June 28th, will mark King Arthur Baking’s first location in Maryland. Indigo Octopus is relocating to Bethesda Row.
