Cycling enthusiasts in Washington DC and Montgomery County area have been embarking on a long-distance ride that stretches all the way to Pittsburgh. By connecting two distinguished trails– the Chesapeake and Ohio (C&O) Canal Towpath and the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP)– cyclists can experience a continuous, car-free route spanning approximately 334.5 miles without ever needing to ride on a road.


The Montgomery County Department of Transportation will hold a hybrid public meeting on June 17 to present and gather feedback on proposed pedestrian safety improvements along a 1.3-mile stretch of Randolph Road in Silver Spring, identified as part of the Vision Zero High Injury Network.

Daniel Stern, best known for his role as Marv Murchins, one half of the infamous “Sticky Bandits” duo alongside Joe Pesci, has deep roots in the Bethesda community. He grew up in Bethesda and attended Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, where he appeared in several theater productions. The WMATA Board of Directors approved a $4.957 billion capital and operating budget aimed toward improving service without raising fares. “The approved budget continues to fund Metro at levels where service is safe, frequent and reliable. In recent years, Metro has seen increased ridership thanks to those tenets and expects that trend to continue with additional Metrorail service and a revamped bus network coming in June.”
