Rockville, Maryland, June 7 – The City of Rockville will host a free viewing party for Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final at 8 tonight at Rockville Town Square.
Since opening in May, the lines at The Baked Bear in Pike & Rose have consistently wrapped around the corner.
The specialty dessert spot has earned rave reviews and has been a huge hit in the short time it has been open.
Poki DC will be opening soon in Rio according to their signage and recent Facebook post (it’ll be located near the movie theater across from BGR). Their North Bethesda store at the Georgetown Square shopping center is expected to open later this summer as well (10400 Old Georgetown Road).
The Rio location will be opening this summer and has a lot to offer.
This summer MoCo residents have a new weekend happy hour hangout where they can dip their toes in the sand, enjoy an Orange Crush Cocktail (it is the beach cocktail) and relax at The Beach at Pike & Rose. They don’t need to drive 3+ hours to the Maryland or Delaware shore for this fun beach destination – it’s in their backyards.
Open daily, The Beach is a place to meet for lunch, play games and relax. On weekends it will feature the Beach Bar, hosted by Ridgewells Catering and offer beach inspired cocktails, beer and wine, as well as light snacks.

Taste of Rockville, which opens at noon on Saturday, May 26 and Sunday, May 27, offers a taste of diverse offerings from Amici Miei, Armand’s Pizzeria and Grill, Botanero, Brooklyn’s Deli & Catering, Dawson’s Market, Fresh Baguette, Golden Samovar, Mellow Mushroom, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Pandora Seafood House & Bar, Pinstripes, Saffron Indian Cuisine, Spice Xing and Trapezaria.
Food tickets are $1.25 each, with menu items costing one to five tickets each. Tickets can be purchased at one of three Taste of Rockville ticket booths along East Montgomery and Maryland avenues. Flower Child is the latest fast-casual health food concept from Fox Restaurant Concepts, the Arizona-based group that also owns True Food Kitchen.
The menu includes build-your-own plates, sandwiches, salads and wraps using organic, sustainable and GMO-free ingredients. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options and desserts are dairy and gluten-free.
Instead, they’ll be taking over the Joe’s Crab Shack patio, where they’ll be serving food and drinks.
Their regular indoor and outdoor seating will also be available.
