Back in November of 2020, we let you know that Jongro BBQ, a popular New York Korean BBQ restaurant, would be opening up shop at Wheaton Mall. The restaurant is now open.

Jongro BBQ received its alcohol license from the county on January 6th. The restaurant has taken over the location that was going to be home to Tilted Kilt a few years back, near DSW and the UPS store at 11160 Veirs Mill Road, H15, in Wheaton.

According to a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page, Hook & Reel at 11006 L-10 Veirs Mill Rd in Wheaton will be officially opening on Tuesday, March 15.  The restaurant held a soft opening on Sunday, March 13 and according to a representative from the Gaithersburg/Montgomery Village location, will hold another soft opening on Monday.

The restaurant is located between Party City and the old Bar Louie.
