A Montgomery County, MD man, 23-year-old Jordan Jones of Silver Spring, was sentenced Friday for voluntary manslaughter while armed for the killing of Noel Nicol, an 18-year-old from Silver Spring, in Southeast D.C. in October, 2021.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the Town Square Garage (Garage 61) on Ellsworth Drive in Downtown Silver Spring at approximately 6:20pm on Monday, July 15, for the report of a fire.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) and the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) responded to the 12500 block of Winexburg Manor Drive in Glenmont at 2:18am Monday morning for a vehicle that crashed into an apartment building.
San Pancho Burritos opened on Saturday in Takoma Park at 7056 Carroll Ave serving San Francisco-style burritos. After moving Cielo Rojo restaurant to its new, bigger location at 7211 Carroll Ave, owners Carolina McCandless and David Perez transformed the original Cielo Rojo space into San Pancho Burritos.

Chief Antonio DeVaul from the Takoma Park Police Department announced the arrest of Nancy Slaughter, 40, of no fixed address, for allegedly stealing a car that was reported stolen in Prince George’s County and found in Montgomery County with Slaughter asleep inside.
New District 3 (Silver Spring) Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) Commander Jason Cokinos noted that extra officers were out to address aggressive, disorderly, and reckless drivers Friday night into Saturday morning.
The Takoma Park Police Department has shared that Lincoln Avenue is closed, as of 12:58pm on Friday between Maple Avenue and Carroll Avenue, due to a tractor trailer that is stuck. Per Police, “Unknown time when the road will re-open. Please use a detour.”
