Officers arrived and were directed to a specific room where they found a victim suffering from injuries.  The victim, an employee of the establishment, was conducting house cleaning in a room when she was approached by an unknown male in the doorway of the room.  The male suspect entered the room, struck the victim in the head and put his hand forcefully over her mouth.  The male suspect attempted to rape the victim, without success.  The victim was able to free her mouth long enough to scream so someone would hear her.  The suspect fled on foot towards New Hampshire Avenue.  Prior to police arrival, a witness approached the room to check on the welfare of the victim at which time the suspect was making his way back to the room.  The victim barricaded herself in another room and the witness was able to flee and reach the management office to alert police.
