Eater has created a list of “17 Must-Try Coffee Shops Around D.C.” and has included one of the many wonderful coffee shops in Montgomery County on its list– Takoma Bev Co, which was founded in 2016 and opened in 2017 in Takoma Park

Per Eater: “The all-day coffee shop and bar from two Northside Social alums brought pour-overs, rotating art exhibits, and mixed drinks to downtown Takoma Park in 2017. The popular cafe has since doubled its seat count by growing into the space next door. A custom espresso machine built for the restaurant is fed a strict diet of Counter Culture Coffee, and a front counter with a white quartz top features a display case stocked with pastries and other impulse buys. Open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. with cocktails, beer, and wine, too. Place orders online here.

Per the City of Takoma Park: The intersection of MD 410 (Ethan Allen Avenue) and Elm Avenue continues to present safety concerns for pedestrians, bicyclists, and vehicles. Councilmember Cindy Dyballa and Public Works Director Daryl Braithwaite are convening a virtual community meeting to:

The alternative proposal is similar to the prior MDOT proposal in that it would include left turn restrictions on each approach, as well as restrict through traffic on Elm Avenue. This would consist of signage and installing a row of delineator posts along the centerline of Ethan Allen Avenue at the intersection. The difference is that it would not include restricting access for incoming traffic on either side of Elm Avenue; however, all vehicles reaching the intersection would only be able to make right turns at Ethan Allen Avenue.
