The Montgomery County Police Department’s Drone as First Responder program assisted in locating a missing 5-year-old and helped apprehend six suspects during three separate incidents on March 13, 2025. The drone, known as RAVEN, provided officers with real-time aerial support, leading to quick arrests in two theft cases and the safe recovery of the missing child.

Montgomery County Police 4th District (4D) officers and specialized teams recently made multiple arrests, recovered stolen vehicles, and closed robbery cases, including the January 30 arrest of a robbery suspect in Wheaton, the January 31 arrest of two suspects linked to a November 2024 robbery, and the recovery of two stolen vehicles near Veirs Mill & Randolph Rd, leading to four arrests and drug seizures. The Montgomery County Police Department announced the arrest of 32-year-old Kofi Aidoo of Silver Spring on firearms-related charges, including prohibited possession of a firearm, after recovering a stolen handgun near Glenmont United Methodist Church. In response to inquiries about the law enforcement presence, police confirmed that the activity was solely related to the criminal investigation and had no connection to immigration status or enforcement.
A juvenile male was arrested in Germantown on January 7, 2024, and charged with four counts of second-degree burglary for three break-ins at a Tobacco Hut in Wheaton-Glenmont in December 2024, before being released to his guardian. (more…)
