With the opening of the Aldi in Montgomery Village, many people have been asking what other businesses are coming to the newly renovated shopping center.

They are ramp meters; ramp meters are a part of the I-270 Innovative Congestion Management (ICM) Project, a traffic-congestion improvement project spearheaded by the MD Department of Transit’s State Highway Administration.
I-495 and I-270 Managed Lanes Study: Let Your Voice Be Heard
So many of us know the feeling of being stuck in bumper-to-bumper traffic jams on I-270 during rush hour. In 2019, a study by Texas A&M University found that the average DC-area car commuter spends 102 hours a year in traffic, which puts it in the top three of metro areas in the entire nation.
UPDATE: Per a sign on I-270 South, exit 12 will open on or about 6/8/20.
J’amie Kirlew, the person who was able to snap the photos, captioned them with “A couple is casually sitting in lawn chairs on 270 between W. Montgomery & Falls drinking wine. We had to turn around and around to capture these pics.”
It didn’t take long after we shared the photos for one of the people in them to be tagged. I was able to ask her a few questions and get to the bottom of this local mystery.
