MoCo Park Police Officer Rescues Kitten Stuck in The Engine Compartment of Vehicle in Germantown

On Sunday afternoon, Maryland Park Police tweeted that an officer responding to the Germantown SoccerPlex  rescued a kitten from the inside of a vehicle’s engine compartment. The cat was then taken to the MoCo Animal Services & Adoption Center.


Montgomery County Reminds Residents that Federal Regulations Continue to Require Face Coverings on Public Transportation—Including Taxis, Ride Sharing, Ride On, Ride On Extra and Flash Bus

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) reminds residents that Federal guidelines continue to require face coverings when traveling by public transportation. Local examples include County Ride On buses, Ride On extra, Flash, Metrobus, Metrorail and when taking taxis or on-demand car services. All MCDOT buses have a supply of face coverings for those who do not have their own. At this time, the Federal requirement is scheduled to remain in effect through Sept. 13.


Maryland Transportation Authority Police Officer Struck on the ICC

Around 12:30PM Thursday, a Maryland Transportation Authority Police Officer was struck by a passing SUV on the ICC. The Officer was on the right shoulder of the Westbound ICC/MD-200 near MM 11.4, between New Hampshire Avenue and Layhill Road.
