German immigrants (and immigrants from other countries) set up shop in the agricultural village when a road was created to connect Neelsville and Darnestown in the 1840s.
Each area was examined based on ethnicity, race, language, and birthplace. Though Jersey City, NJ, came in first, four MoCo areas were included in the top 10.
Gaithersburg came in 2nd, Germantown came in 3rd, Silver Spring came in 4th, and Rockville was 9th.

Ronald Darby attended Potomac High Shool in Oxon Hill (P.G. County), but longtime MoCo sports reporter, Brandy Louis Simms (@BLS1969), revealed that Darby’s mother attended Seneca Valley High School in Germantown.
Mack Hollins is a Wootton High School graduate. He caught 16 passes for 226 yards this season. His lone touchdown came earlier this year against the Washington Redskins.
