Miller was last seen on Friday, February 3, 2023, at approximately 11 a.m., in the 12600 block of Granite Rock Road. Miller is approximately 5-feet, 10-inches tall and weighs 165 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair. She was last seen wearing a burgundy sweater and blue jeans. Police and family are concerned for her welfare.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Alexandra Faith Miller is asked to call the police non-emergency number at (301) 279-8000 (24-hour line). Callers may remain anonymous.


Officers located a 16-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. Two possible suspects were seen running from the area of the shooting. There is no one in custody.

This is active and ongoing investigation and police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. More information will be released when it is available.”

At approximately 2:13 a.m., 5th District officers responded to the location for the report of a suspicious situation.  Upon arrival, officers were advised that after hearing a knock at their door, the victims observed two male suspects, one armed with a handgun standing outside of their residence. The male suspect, later identified as Kelly, began to shoot at the house.

Update: Laperaux will open on Tuesday, February 7

Back in April we let you know of the impending arrival of Laperaux, the Journeymanchef’s Bistro,  the new restaurant coming to 18056 Mateny Rd in Germantown- the former home of Gumbo Ya Ya, Dickie’s BBQ Pit, and Cafe Mileto (located in the Cloppers Mill shopping center, in the same strip as Shoppers). The French bistro has recently completed “front of house” training and plans to open in the coming days (possibly by the end of this weekend).

The Montgomery County Planning Board will consider the Edward U. Taylor School and Weller’s Dry Cleaning sites for historic designation at the Planning Board meeting on February 23, 2023. The public is invited to offer testimony during the public hearing either in person or virtually. At the meeting, the Planning Board will make a recommendation for or against designation which will be sent to the Montgomery County Council for their final decision. The last amendment to the Master Plan of Historic Preservation was the historic designation of the Potomac Overlook District in 2022. View the public hearing draft of the amendment.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to Little Bennett Campground in the 23700 block of Frederick Rd. in Clarksburg for the report of an injured person on Saturday afternoon. According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, one person (adult) was pinned between a vehicle and a tree after a vehicle inadvertently rolled backwards. Nearby campers were able to assist the person prior to EMS arrival.  One adult was transported to to the hospital with Priority 2, non-life threatening injuries. The Montgomery County Students Automotive Trades Foundation (ATF) is looking for car donations. Donations will help more high school students learn how to evaluate, repair and restore used cars. The ATF is a nonprofit that fosters automotive education by offering students hands-on instruction in maintenance, repair, sales and marketing. The students run a mini-dealership where people can purchase the refurbished cars. The ATF accepts donations year-round by appointment at Damascus, Gaithersburg and Seneca Valley high schools, at Thomas Edison High School of Technology and at the Shady Grove Bus Depot. MCPS students engage in a hands-on curriculum to refurbish used cars. As part of the automotive program, students sell the cars at three sales throughout the school year (www.cars2purchase.org).
