Simon Property Group, who owns and operates Clarksburg Premium Outlets, announced they will be closing until March 29th.
“After extensive discussions with federal, state and local officials and in recognition of the need to address the spread of COVID-19, Simon will close all of its retail properties, including Malls, Premium Outlets and Mills in the U.S. This measure will take effect from 7pm local time today and will end on March 29.”
March 18 UPDATE: Jimmie Cone has announced that they have “made the very difficult decision to close up shop while this crisis continues. We are so appreciative of all those who came and enjoyed some ice cream yesterday- your support means the world to us! Ridge Road is an existing rink refurbished by the Capitals. The old boards were removed, and the existing metal frame was used. The bench area and doors were adjusted to be ADA compliant by Riley Manufacturing, who then installed their board system. A new Daktronics scoreboard and Mateflex flooring system was installed featuring the Capitals logo.
The first standalone Starbucks in Damascus is now open at 26141 Ridge Rd.
Starbucks has had a presence in Damascus for a while with their location within Safeway, but this location will offer a drive-thru window and will have the full Starbucks menu.

Just before 2am on Sunday morning, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service responded to a call on Laytonsville Rd and Rocky Road.
A single vehicle went off the road and into an embankment. First responders had to extricate the driver from the vehicle.

Starbucks has looked like it has been ready to go for weeks at 26141 Ridge Rd in Damascus.
This morning we received word that the location is tentatively set to open on Thursday, February 27th.
Eric Wallich, the head football coach at Damascus High School released a statement earlier today officially resigning from the position.
Wallich has an overall coaching record of 119-26 (.821%) in his 13 years as a head coach at Damascus and Whitman high schools.
