Children’s Specialized ABA is proud to host our annual Community Food Drive, dedicated to supporting families in need—especially those raising children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We understand that for many families, the cost of specialized care, therapy, and daily living needs can create added challenges during the holiday season. That’s why our goal is to help make sure no table goes empty and every family feels the warmth of community care.

We are providing free prepackaged bags of food for families in need, filled with essential pantry items and nutritious options that are easy to prepare. These bags are available to all local families, with special consideration for those in our ASD community who may benefit from this extra support.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Lafayette Federal Credit Union is inviting local residents to safely dispose of personal documents at its upcoming Community Shred Day, held at the Universities at Shady Grove (Building IV) on Saturday, October 25th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (or until the shred truck reaches capacity).

Community Shred Day is free and open to the public, offering a secure and convenient way to shred sensitive documents such as old bills, tax forms, medical records, and other paperwork that could put individuals at risk of identity theft if improperly discarded.

The Little Wind Phone Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Rockville, MD dedicated to creating peaceful spaces where people can process grief, reflect, and heal. Inspired by the original Wind Phone in Japan, each installation features a simple, unconnected phone placed in a quiet outdoor setting — a symbolic way to speak to loved ones who have passed and find comfort through reflection and nature.

We’re currently raising funds to build our first Wind Phone at Reflection Park in Silver Spring, Maryland — the first all-natural burial ground in the county.
