Update From MCPS Regarding Masks, Graduation Ceremonies, And Sporting Events
Montgomery County Public Schools sent the following message out Wednesday evening:
Montgomery County Reminds Residents that Federal Regulations Continue to Require Face Coverings on Public Transportation—Including Taxis, Ride Sharing, Ride On, Ride On Extra and Flash Bus
The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) reminds residents that Federal guidelines continue to require face coverings when traveling by public transportation. Local examples include County Ride On buses, Ride On extra, Flash, Metrobus, Metrorail and when taking taxis or on-demand car services. All MCDOT buses have a supply of face coverings for those who do not have their own. At this time, the Federal requirement is scheduled to remain in effect through Sept. 13.
Earlier today the Montgomery County Council approved a new Board of Health regulation which no longer requires residents to wear masks outdoors, or indoors if they are fully vaccinated.

Uber & Lyft Offering Free Rides to Vaccine Appointments
In an effort to help individuals who don’t have access to transportation, the Biden Administration announced last week that they were partnering with rideshare companies Uber and Lyft to provide free rides to anyone going to and from a vaccination site.

Drive Thru Food Distribution Event Today in Germantown For Those in Need
The Upcounty Consolidation Hub and Nourish Now will be hosting a drive-thru distribution event today, May 18th, at 19110 Liberty Mill Rd. in Germantown from 2-3PM.
Mobile Vaccination Site at Lakeforest Mall Lot May 18-May 23
There will be a mobile vaccination site at the Lakeforest Mall Bus Commuter Lot (701 Russel Ave in Gaithersburg) from May 18th to the 23rd, and again four weeks later for the second dose.
New COVID-19 Mask Guidelines And Restrictions For Montgomery County to be Voted On Tomorrow
On Tuesday, the Montgomery County Council, acting as the Board of Health, will adopt a new health order to reflect the counties current vaccination rate, which is now 60% of entire population.
The Guru Gobind Singh Foundation is holding a produce pickup event today and every Sunday, at 13814 Travillah Rd. in Rockville from 9am-11am.
If you are elderly or immunocompromised they offer delivery service within a 10 mile radius.
