MoCo Executive, Marc Elrich, Directs Tweet at President Trump

At 10:59pm last night, Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich directed a tweet at President Donald Trump in response to Trump leaving Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to take a ride in a motorcade to wave to supporters on 355.

President Trump is Headed to Walter Reed in Bethesda Following COVID Diagnosis

Minutes ago there were multiple reports that President Trump will go to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda as a precautionary move.


Germantown

The Black Rock Center for the Arts in Germantown is offering free  COVID testing tomorrow from 9 AM – 3 PM in their parking lot (12901 Town Commons Dr).

They are also hosting their Hispanic Heritage Family Day event, but you do not have to be registered for the event (registration is full) to take advantage of the testing.

MCPS Provides Employees with 45 Day Notice for Possible Return to In-Person, In-Building Instruction

In a letter sent by MCPS Superintendent Jack Smith to employees, the school system has provided the previously agreed upon 45 days notice for a possible return to in-person, in-building instruction.

Montgomery County is not currently considering Phase Three according to this afternoon’s media briefing with County Executive Marc Elrich and Heath Officer Travis Gayles.

The briefing also mentioned that positive cases have increased, but that we have not seen a comparable increase in hospitalizations or emergency room utilization and COVID related fatalities.

Applications are Now Open for the Second Phase of the COVID Rent Relief Program

Montgomery County is now accepting requests for the second phrase of the COVID Rent Relief Program. The program will continually review applications while funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
