MCPS sent out a letter to the community announcing that 16 schools will begin virtual learning on Thursday, January 20th.
Earlier today, during a meeting with the Montgomery County Council, Interim Superintendent Dr. Monifa McKnight announced that additional schools would be going virtual and that the schools would be named in a message that would be sent out later in the day.
Montgomery County announced today that the afternoon test kit distribution will now begin at 5pm.
Additionally, you can now get free at-home COVID-19 test kits delivered from COVIDtests.gov. Each household is eligible to order four free kits.

Beginning January 25, individuals 12 and older will be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination before entering the National Aquarium at 501 E Pratt St in Baltimore.

ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Larry Hogan today visited the location of a new state-run COVID-19 testing site at UM Shore Regional Health in Easton and announced the locations for five additional hospital-based testing sites that will open by the end of next week. The governor also announced that the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) will begin distributing 20 million N95 and KN95 masks to Marylanders next week at no cost, through multiple channels, including local health departments, state-run testing and vaccination sites, and nursing homes.

On January 11, 2022 the Montgomery County Council sitting as the Board of Public Health will introduce a resolution to adopt a Board of Health Regulation to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the County – vaccination requirements to enter bars, restaurants, recreation centers, and other covered establishments.
