Total gaming revenue is up 19.4% in Maryland casinos, including a near 33% increase from January 2021 at MGM National Harbor, which brought in over $67 million.

A large increase in revenue was also seen at Live Casino & Hotel (14.4%) and Horseshoe Casino (17.1%). The major increase at all but two casinos could partially be due to some pandemic-related restrictions still being in place last January. Sports betting also began in December 2021 at Maryland Casinos, with a total of $16 million being of revenue in the first month.

The Super Bowl could play a role in February numbers, as it will be the first time the NFL’s biggest game will be available to bet on through Sportsbooks in the state.

While the increasing numbers were experienced at most casinos, some also saw numbers go down. A  decrease was seen at two Maryland casinos, Hollywood Casino (does 2.8%) and Ocean Downs Casino (down 12.3%), and a slight increase was seen at Rocky Gap Casino (1.8%).

The numbers are available, in full, below:

  • MGM National Harbor: $67.1 million – 32.8% year-over-year increase
