Back in February we let you know that Goodwill would be opening a new location at 725 Rockville Pike in Rockville. Now we know that it will be opening tomorrow, Saturday, September 18th.

It will be taking over the space previously occupied by Italo Ceramica, inside the same complex as Marlo Furniture.

From Goodwill® of Greater Washington:

Goodwill will be opening its 21st retail store and donation center at 725 Rockville Pike in Rockville, MD, next door to the Marlo Furniture store. The exact date of the grand opening has not yet been confirmed, though an early summer of 2021 opening is anticipated.

“Goodwill of Greater Washington is proud to be adding another retail store and donation center in Rockville, MD to our growing retail footprint”, said Brendan Hurley, Goodwill of Greater Washington Chief Marketing Officer. “91 cents out of every dollar we earn goes towards our mission services, so every item donated and sold at our new Rockville location will have a positive and measurable impact on our local community.”

The new location is the second for Goodwill in Rockville, MD. Goodwill also has a store at 4816 Boiling Brook Parkway. The nonprofit agency hopes to offer the residents of Rockville not only another place to find quality donated goods at great prices but also an additional destination to donate apparel and household goods that have outgrown their homes. Every investment in Goodwill helps fund free job training, education, and placement services to people facing barriers to employment – a critical need due to the pandemic.

Approximately 30 new jobs have been created through the opening of the new store.

Goodwill is a nonprofit organization which runs thrift stores that provide job training and employment to individuals that may otherwise face employment challenges.
