Per the State of Maryland:

ANNAPOLIS, MD—The State of Maryland has surpassed the threshold of 1,500 COVID-19 hospitalizations, triggering additional actions by hospitals, as required by a Maryland Department of Health order issued earlier this month.

During Wednesday’s COVID-19 media briefing, Assistant Chief Administrative Officer Dr. Earl Stoddard said that the county has drafted language for a “vaccine passport” that is currently being reviewed and will then be provided to the County Council for their consideration. The County Council, acting as the Board of Health, will have to approve  the regulation.

The proposed language includes restaurants, movie theaters, entertainment venues, and gyms.

ANNAPOLIS, MD—As the Omicron variant becomes more dominant and COVID-19 hospitalizations continue to rise across the state, Governor Larry Hogan today announced the commitment of $100 million in emergency funding to address urgent staffing needs at Maryland hospitals and nursing homes, as well as a series of actions to further ramp up the availability of COVID-19 testing across the state.

ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Larry Hogan today announced the first round of awardees for Project Restore, a $25 million economic recovery initiative that provides financial incentives for small businesses and commercial developers to revitalize vacant retail and commercial space. A total of 144 businesses in 23 jurisdictions will receive $3.6 million in rental subsidies and $7.2 million in business operations grants over the next two years, totaling $10.8 million in support.


Maryland

Governor Larry Hogan announced this morning via tweet that he had tested positive for COVID-19. Hogan, who is vaccinated and has received his booster shot, says he is feeling fine and encouraged residents to get vaccinated or their booster shots as soon as possible.

“This morning, as part of my regular testing routine, I received a positive rapid test for COVID-19. I have been vaccinated and boosted, and I am feeling fine at the moment.”
