Levain Bakery Announces July Opening Date for First MoCo Location

Back in January we told you that Levain, a New York-based bakery best known for their exceptionally thick cookies, was planning to open its first MoCo location.

Yesterday, Levain announced on social media that the Bethesda location will be opening in July. It’ll be located at 4844 Bethesda Ave, in the spot that was previously home to Francesca’s.

This will be Levain’s second store in the DMV area– the first local store opened in Georgetown back in September.

A typical Levain cookie weighs in at six ounces, according to their website. Their signature flavors include Chocolate Chip Walnut, Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip, Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip, and Oatmeal Raisin.  Levain is also known for donating leftover cookies to charity every night after the store closes.

Frozen versions of Levain’s signature cookies can be found in some MoCo grocery stores including Harris Teeter, Whole Foods, and Balducci’s.
