Potomac

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 2nd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Michael Andrew Yau, a missing 18-year-old from Potomac.

Yau was last seen walking in the area of Riverwood Court, at approximately 6:45 p.m., on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.  Yau is approximately 5-feet, 11-inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray top and beige pants. Police and family are concerned for his welfare.


Silver Spring

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Keylin Yolibeth Chavez-Dominguez, a missing 20-year-old from Silver Spring.   Chavez-Dominguez was last seen on Friday, December 30, 2022, at approximately 6:00 p.m., in the 12300 block of Braxfield Court.

Chavez-Dominguez is approximately 5-feet tall and weighs 100 pounds. She has short brown hair, green eyes and braces. She has a tattoo on her right arm of roses and a hummingbird and piercings in both, her ears and nose.  She was last seen wearing black shorts, an unknown color t-shirt and pink sandals.  Police and family are concerned for her welfare.


Burtonsville

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division continue to investigate a series of bank robberies that began on January 18, 2022. Detectives have released surveillance photos and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the male suspect believed to be responsible for four bank robberies in Montgomery County.

On Tuesday, January 18, 2022, 3rd District officers responded to the Sandy Spring Bank, located in the 3500 block of Spencerville Road in Burtonsville, for a bank robbery that just occurred. The preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 3:18 p.m., the male suspect entered the bank and approached the teller window. Once at the window, the suspect slid a note to the teller, announcing the robbery and demanding money. The teller complied and gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect left the bank in an unknown direction.


MoCo Police

Montgomery County Police have announced that the Alcohol Holiday Task Force arrested 40 people for DUI during the week of December 28, 29, 30 and 31. Per MCPD: Officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Holiday Alcohol Task Force have been devoting their full time and attention to detecting alcohol-related offenses this holiday season to save lives and reduce impaired driving violations in our roadways.

This task force typically starts the week before thanksgiving and ends the first week of January. Montgomery County Police officers and officers from allied agencies (Maryland Transportation Authority Police, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Rockville City Police, Takoma Park Police, Gaithersburg Police, Maryland State Police and Maryland National Capital Park Police) volunteer to work the task force.


Gaithersburg

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged 38-year-old Darrell Amos Barnes Jr., of Rockville, and 35-year-old Marcus Antonio Umanzor, of Gaithersburg, for a strong-arm carjacking that occurred on Monday, December 19, 2022.

On December 19, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Gaithersburg Police and 6th District officers responded to the 200 block of N. Frederick Ave. for the report of a carjacking that just occurred. The investigation by detectives determined that the victim was sitting in the front passenger seat of a 2012 Honda Insight, when one suspect knocked on the window and told the victim to get out. The second suspect opened the driver’s side door and told the victim to get out. The victim exited the vehicle out of fear. Then, the second suspect drove away in the Honda and the first suspect walked away.


Clarksburg

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 5th District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 25-year-old from Clarksburg.

Vanessa Henderson was last seen on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at approximately 11 a.m., in the 13700 block of Petrel St. She was driving a silver 2020 Kia Sportage with Maryland tag 8FC2301.


Bethesda

At approximately 9 p.m., 2nd District officers responded to the 4800 block of Fairmont Avenue for the report of a residential burglary that occurred earlier.


Rockville

Matveeva is approximately 5-feet, 11-inches tall and weighs 120 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing black cargo pants and a grey or green jacket.   Police and family are concerned for his welfare.


Silver Spring

Montgomery County Police are investigating a shooting that occurred near a Pizza Hut in Silver Spring. According to public safety reporter Cordell Pugh, the shooting took place around 5:20pm on the corner of New Hampshire Avenue and Northampton Drive. Montgomery County Police report that an adult male victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and that no suspect are in custody at this time. We will post an update when additional information becomes available.

Silver Spring

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 17-year-old from Silver Spring.Kadiatu Sesay was last seen on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at approximately 6 p.m., in the area of Sheffield Manor Ct.

Sesay is approximately 5-feet, 1-inch tall and weighs 120 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black bathrobe, with unknown clothing underneath. Police and family are concerned for her welfare.


Rockville

On Wednesday, November 16, at approximately 12:15 a.m., 4th District officers responded to the Exon gas station for the report of a commercial burglary that just occurred. On Tuesday, November 29, at approximately 6 a.m., 4th District officers responded to the Village Beer and Wine store for the report of a commercial burglary. The investigation by detectives has determined that the same suspect forcibly entered the businesses, allegedly stole an undisclosed amount of money and merchandise and left the store.
