A Maryland Stare Trooper that was performing a separate traffic stop was struck this morning at exit 6 on I-270 (West Montgomery Avenue).
The trooper was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries, according to Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Pete Piringer.

“Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – Special Investigations Division (SVID) have located one-year-old Ziona Amaya and her father, Cornelius Smith.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police -2nd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing adult male.
On November 26, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Oren Moshe Peter, age 23, was last seen leaving his residence in the 5700 block of Kingswood Road in Bethesda. He was driving a Gray 2007 Honda Pilot bearing Maryland Tag 45096CA.

Charles Moose, who served as Chief of Police for Montgomery County from 1999-2003, passed away unexpectedly on Thanksgiving, according to his wife Sandy Moose.
Moose was Chief of Police during the 2002 sniper attacks and investigation.
