An altercation in led to shots being fired on Reedie Drive near Georgia Avenue in Wheaton at approximately 6:45pm on Friday evening.

According to our public safety reporter, Cordell Pugh, the male victim was shot in the chest and is in very critical condition.

Two suspects were arrested near the Wheaton Metro station with a third person of interest stopped on Upton Drive. With the assistance of a MoCo Sheriff’s K-9, a discarded handgun was recovered from the Shady Grove side of the platform at the Wheaton Metro station.

This is a developing story that will be updated when additional information is available.

Update: Maximillian Shin has been located safe and unharmed.

From Montgomery County Police:

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police -5thDistrict Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 19-year-old male from Germantown.

Maximillian Shin was last seen around midnight, today, January 23 at his residence in the 17000 block of Stag Horn Court.

Shin is 5-feet, 5-inches tall and weighs approximately 100 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Police and family are concerned for his welfare.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Maximillian Shin is asked to call the police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000 (24-hour line) or the 5th District Investigative Section at 240-773-6237.

Today in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, before the Honorable Judge Sharon Burrell, a jury found D’Andre Wall guilty of attempted second-degree murder and guilty of use of a handgun in a violent crime.

These charges apply to Wall shooting at the male driver of a vehicle during a road rage incident on 8/8/2019 in Germantown, MD.

A female passenger was struck by one of the bullets and injured. –The male driver was 17-years old at the time and has requested that his name not be made public in any further reports.

Wall, 30, of Germantown, is now scheduled for a sentencing hearing on January 10th at 1pm. He is facing a maximum of 40 years in prison on the
attempted murder charge and an additional 20  years on the handgun charge.

Text messages between D’andre Wall and his uncle, NBA player John Wall, were used as evidence in the case.

Assistant State’s Attorneys Kelly McGann and Gordon King prosecuted this case.

On September 15, officers from the Montgomery County Police – 6th District responded to the 11000 block of Game Preserve Road to assist the Maryland Department of National Resources Police with a call for the found remains of an adult male. The body of the adult male had been discovered in a pond.

The Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division, have identified the remains as Waymon Meadows Anderson, age 57, of Montgomery Village. Anderson had been reported missing and was last seen in the 9900 block of Medical Center Drive on September 11, 2021.

The preliminary investigation by detectives does not indicate any signs of foul play in the death of Anderson.

Waymon Meadows Anderson was previously reported missing earlier this week.

Detectives ask anyone with information regarding Waymon Meadows Anderson or this incident to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.

From Montgomery County Police:

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) are investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Thursday evening in the Aspen Hill area.

At approximately 8 p.m., 4th District officers and Fire Rescue personnel responded to the intersection of Norbeck Road and Layhill Road for the report of a two vehicle collision that just occurred.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that a Blue and Black 2005 Yamaha R6 motorcycle was traveling westbound on Norbeck Rd.  The motorcycle struck a Silver 2006 Buick Rendezvous in the intersection. The operator of the Buick was attempting a left turn from eastbound Norbeck Rd to northbound Layhill Rd. The motorcycle operator was ejected from the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead on scene. The operator of the Buick was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The deceased is identified as a 24 year-old male from Silver Spring.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) continues to investigate this collision.  Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to contact CRU detectives at 240-773-6620.
