Have you ever wondered who would win a one-on-one matchup between your high school’s all-time leading scorer and that one player who went D1 that dropped 38 points in the playoff game?

MoCo resident Jonathan Mensah has created a platform to not only answer that question, but also let you watch the games in person or through Instagram. Mensah grew up in Gaithersburg and later attended Richard Montgomery High School (class of 2010) and Montgomery College, where he also played basketball.

Drivers in the area will begin seeing flashing yellow lights on the entrance ramps today when merging onto I-270. The lights are expected to become fully operational next month. The ramp lights are apart of the I-270 Corridor Innovative Congestion Management project that Governor Larry Hogan announced back in 2016.

According to MDOT, once the ramp meters are fully operational, the signal will allow one car at a time to go from each lane, optimizing traffic flow onto I-270.

In this week’s message, County Executive Marc Elrich talks about the continued need to stick with tough measures against the COVID-19 variant. He also expresses his disappointment with this week’s vote of the Maryland Board of Public Works regarding the State’s plan to expand I-495 and I-270. He discusses the Climate Action Plan of the U.N. And he also joins the many County residents who are glad historic Hank Dietle’s Tavern is back in business on Rockville Pike.
