Last week we let you know that Fry Guy, a locally owned fried chicken, fish and waffle restaurant, is coming 7601 AirPark Rd Suite B in Gaithersburg, the former site of Penang Garden.
The owners tell us, “When it comes to our food, flavor is at the center! We have worked really hard to create relationships with distributors that only provide high quality products. While our bread and butter is chicken, fish, and waffles, we have several other items on our menu!“
The restaurant will hold its soft opening tomorrow (Monday, 7/26) from 11am-5pm. They will also have lunch specials from 11am-3pm).
MCPS Fall 2020 vs. Fall 2021 (Opening Schools)
At yesterday’s Montgomery County Board of Education meeting, plans were discussed for fall 2021, which include schools being open at 100 percent capacity for 5-day-a-week learning for all students.

Doc Waters Cidery is Open for the Season (Germantown)
Doc Waters Cidery opened for the 2021 season on Friday, April 2. We had a chance to stop by and check it out this weekend.
Below you’ll see a few shots from our time at the cidery, as well as the asada fries from new food vendor, Tacos Borrachos, who tell us they’ll be at the cidery every weekend (more information is also available below the pictures).
This year’s hours will be:
Fridays 3-9 PM
Saturdays 11-9 PM
Sundays 11-6 PM
They will be hosting Pour House Trivia on Fridays from 7-9 PM.
In order to manage social distancing and ensure a great experience for guests, seating this year will be by reservation.
