Back in August, we let you know that Yirasai Sushi would be moving from its Westbard location in Bethesda to Park Potomac (12525 Park Potomac Ave Building G), following a conversation with restaurant management.

From August: “Earlier today we spoke with a manager at Yirasai Sushi, located at 5110 Ridgefield Road in the Westwood Shipping Center in Bethesda, who told us that the tentative plan is to close to the current location later this year as they prepare to move in to the old Elevation Burger spot in Park Potomac that became available last month.”

The Bethesda location is now closed and the restaurant expects to open in Park Potomac in February, according to the Yirasai website.

The menu can be seen here.

Additional information about the restaurant:

“Kim’s Yirasai Sushi and Café is owned and operated by Mr. Kim. He took over the restaurant from the previous owner in 2004 and has worked hard to make Yirasai a neighborhood gem.”

”Yirasai has been recognized as many people’s favorites by others such as The Washingtonian and NBC4. Mr.Kim has many regular customers whom he has built friendships with over the past years. Accommodating to the customer’s needs, Mr. Kim and his staff are quick to make adjustments and changes if needed.”

Wine Harvest to Close Permanently in Park Potomac

Wine Harvest announced yesterday via social media that it will be closing its Park Potomac location after 11 years.

The Kentlands location closed in the summer of 2019 after 23 years, but we have heard rumors that a concept similar to Wine Harvest may return very close to the old location (under new ownership). We’ll see if those materialize.

Their message to customers can be seen below.

“ATTENTION ALL CUSTOMERS, FRIENDS & FAMILY:

As we are approaching the end of the year, and preparing for the holiday season, The

Wine Harvest

is also coming up on 11years! Over the years, we have had some of the best experiences in our shop. Live music, wine tastings, tons of social events (public and private). We have also had some of the most amazing staff on our team, and still do! We have been very fortunate to be welcomed in to the

Park Potomac

community, and we are grateful for all of it.

While this year has not been easy, we have had to tighten our belts, and find different ways to help each other out and survive with the pandemic. Unfortunately, we have come to a crossroad, where we are sadly announcing that it is time to hang up our corkscrews and bottle openers in January 😭
We would like to thank everyone who has had the chance to shop, and eat and drink with us over the years. We would also like to invite everyone to come by, stock up for their holidays and the winter months before we say goodbye.
Over then next weeks, we will be having daily specials and offer the same top-notch service our amazing team has always provided. While we would love to hug and thank everyone personally, we know it would not be socially-distant thing to do.
Please take a moment to say hello, and goodbye, over the next few weeks. As well as let the team know how much they have been appreciated.
Thank you for amazing tenure in Park Potomac.”

Addie’s in Potomac has closed permanently.

Its owner, Black Restaurant Group, says they have no intentions to reopen the restaurant for the foreseeable future.

The restaurant served New American fare with a specialty in seafood. Some of its sister restaurants are still open for carryout and outdoor service, such as Republic in Takoma Park.

Back in April, Attman’s Deli announced that they had closed their Cabin John location and were planning to move into a new spot, somewhere nearby.  At the time of the announcement, no official location was disclosed.

There have been rumors that they might potentially move into Park Potomac, in the spot previously occupied by Zoe’s kitchen.  Today, we heard that there appeared to be people loading furniture and equipment from an Attman’s truck into that space.

Attman’s Deli is best known for their corned beef, pastrami, pickles, and other New York Jewish delicacies. The original Attman’s location in Baltimore is still open for business during this time.
