Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich will be joined by County Council Vice President Gabe Albornoz at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Avery Road Treatment Center.

The state-of-the-art center provides inpatient and outpatient treatment services for substance use disorders.

Avery Road Treatment Center provides residential, non-hospital detoxification and intermediate care services for adults. Clients can self-refer, or can be referred by Access to Behavioral Health, jail, hospitals, or other treatment providers. Priority populations include pregnant women, individuals diagnosed as HIV+, AIDS, Hepatitis C or TB/PPD+.

Also included are individuals with Child Welfare or criminal justice involvement, and those with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders.

Also attending the event will be Maryland Sen. Cheryl Kagan and Maryland Del. Kirill Reznik; County Councilmembers Sidney Katz, Evan Glass, and Will Jawando; Department of Health and Human Services Director Raymond Crowel; Department of General Services Director David Dise; Maryland Treatment Center Executive Director Meghan Westwood; and other State and County leaders.

An alumna of the program will be available to speak to the media about her experience.
