Per the City of Rockville:
Baltimore Road will remain closed between Gladstone and Broadwood drives for an estimated additional month, through approximately the end of November, as construction continues to improve safety and access along the road.
In August we let you know Èkó House would be coming to the space formerly occupied by Bar Louie at 150 Gibbs St. in Rockville Town Square.
The restaurant is scheduled to have its beer, wine, and liquor license hearing with Montgomery County on November 4th.

Privai, the luxury skin and body care line, announced the expansion of its brand earlier this week with the debut of Privai | Spa + Salon.Per the press release, they will open a Pike & Rose location followed by a Gaithersburg location here in MoCo.
As part of their 100 year anniversary celebration, the Rockville Volunteer Fire Department will be holding an antique fire engine parade and muster this Sunday at 11am in Rockville Town Square. At noon, there will be a family event with food trucks, music, and kid’s activities at 850 Hungerford Dr. in Rockville.

Montgomery Parks hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on, Monday, October 18, 2021, for the department’s first dedicated pickleball courts, located at Bauer Drive Local Park. The six new courts have lights for play until 11 p.m. and are located adjacent to the Bauer Drive Communnity Recreation Center.
Pickleball is a fast-paced, low-impact sport that combines several classic games including badminton, tennis, and table tennis. It is played with a tennis-like net and paddles slightly larger than ping pong, with a plastic whiffle ball.

Corned Beef King announced that it’ll be moving to a new Rockville location and will be reopening on Thursday, October 21st. After a slight delay, it has now reopened as of Wednesday, October 27th. The Corned Beef King was at the Liberty gas station on Rockville Pike and Twinbrook Pkwy since moving out of the Olney Exxon back in 2018. That location is now closed.

Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh announced today that his Consumer Protection Division has reached a settlement with Just Puppies of Maryland, Inc., Just Puppies, Inc., and Mitchell Thomson, the companies’ owner (Just Puppies) concerning their sale of puppies to consumers that the Division alleged violated the Consumer Protection Act and the No More Puppy Mills Act.
The settlement prevents Just Puppies from selling dogs in Maryland, provides restitution to Maryland consumers who purchased puppies that had a congenital disorder or hereditary condition or illness at the time of purchase, and imposes civil penalties.
Residents 18-and-older interested in lessons and safety clinics regarding e-scooters will have the opportunity to attend four free clinics in September and October sponsored by the Montgomery County Department of Transportation.
Participants can take a test ride, learn safety tips and get details on basic scooter laws. Participants must have a valid driver’s license. No registration is required to attend a clinic. The clinics generally will last about two hours and e-scooters will be available at each site. Those interested in e-scooters can stop in at any time during the two-hour clinics.
