Updated 11/23/21 to include information on where the pageant can be watched

Layilah Nasser, a Montgomery county resident, was recently crowned Miss Maryland 2021.

The Miss Maryland USA 2021 competition took place right here in Montgomery County, where Layilah competed against 102 other candidates at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Rockville.

Her MoCo ties run deep, as she is a graduate of Watkins Mill High School, Montgomery Village Middle School and Whetstone elementary.

Nasser was crowned by Taelyr Robinson, Miss Maryland 2020.

Nasser will represent Maryland at Miss USA 2021. It will take place at the Paradise Cove Theater of River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA on November 29th.

This will be the second consecutive year the pageant will be broadcast on fyi, and the first to be streamed live on Hulu at 8pm.

Previous Miss Maryland’s from MoCo include Kamie Crawford– a MoCo Native (graduated from Churchill in 2010) that has gone on to become the co-host of the MTV series, Catfish.
