Sad End to the Derwood Peacock Situation

For about a week there has been a peacock strutting around the Derwood area.

Initially two peacocks were loose, but one was quickly found. The other has been photographed several times as Derwood residents desperately tried to get the bird back home.

Sadly, the bird made its way up to New Hampshire Ave. and was hit and killed by a car last night.

We are told the birds belong to a very religious man who owns them because they are very spiritual animals.

A sad ending to a captivating story out of Derwood. R.I.P. to the peacock 🦚.
