William Bobrow, Founder of Elbe’s, Passes Away

We are saddened by the news of the passing of William (Willie) Bobrow, founder of Elbe’s Beer and Wine, at the age of 98.

Willie, aka Mr. Elbe, opened Elbe’s in May of 1951. It is located at 2522 University Blvd in Wheaton.

Funeral service for Willie Bobrow will be held on Tuesday, June 4th, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at Ohr Kodesh Congregation, 8300 Meadowbrook Ln, Chevy Chase, MD 20815. Interment to follow at King David Memorial Gardens, Falls Church, VA. The family will be observing Shiva on Tuesday and Thursday at the home of Miriam Bobrow.
