Construction has started on Silver Spring’s tallest building.

The Washington Business Journal reports that work has begun on the building that will contain 403 apartments and a 15,000 square foot food hall and market (Solaire 8200 Dixon).
The 26 story building’s food hall and market will “bring a dynamic mix of unique eateries and entertainment to the community, while providing business opportunities for local entrepreneurs.”
It will be located at the former site of Progress Place on Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring’s Ripley district.
