Montgomery County to Reinstate Some Covid Restrictions, Pending Council Approval
During today’s media briefing Marc Elrich stated that he will be asking the county council to approve an executive order that will reinstate some Covid restrictions.
Elrich considers the increase in cases a trend rather than a “blip.” Cases per 100k people are now up to 13 after being at 10.6 just two weeks ago.
The following restrictions will be put into place starting Friday, November 6th at 5pm:
• Restaurant capacity will be reduced to 25%. This goes for gyms/fitness facilities, retail stores, museums, and religious facilities.
• Gatherings can no longer exceed 25 people.
• Childcare facilities will remain at Phase 2 levels.
• Late night alcohol sales (previously allowed from 10pm to midnight) will be suspended.
The executive order must be approved by the council before it goes into effect. Meeting to review will take place tomorrow, 11/5.
