1 in 1000 MoCo residents have now died from Covid-19

In sad news, the Maryland Department of Health reports 1,049 confirmed Covid deaths in Montgomery County, accounting for ~0.1 percent of its pre-pandemic population. Additionally, there have been 43 probable deaths.

17 states and Washington D.C. have reached this mark, as have six other Maryland jurisdictions (Allegany, Kent, Garrett, Prince George’s, and Baltimore counties and Baltimore City).

Statewide, Maryland has reported 5,493 deaths, equivalent to 1 in 1100 Marylanders, or 0.09 percent.
