STATEMENT FROM TOWN COMMISSION
“It is with regret that the Commissioners of Poolesville announce that Tony Tomasello will be leaving his position as Poolesville town manager in April 2022. Tony began serving the Town in August of 2021 after a thorough candidate search that involved a citizen advisory board (which selected Tony as its top pick), multiple interviews, and utilizing a professional screening and assessment tool.
Tony advised the Commissioners that he will depart the position for family-related, personal reasons, and that this was a decision made with the support of his entire family. In his time with the Town, Tony has had a positive impact, accomplished a great deal, and he will certainly be missed.
Tony will serve in the role of town manager in a full-time capacity until January 1, 2022, and then work part time until early April 2022. Tony has indicated a willingness to possibly extend that date, while the search for a new manager is ongoing. The Commissioners thank Tony for his service and appreciate his willingness to serve the Town into 2022.”
Tomasello previously served the City of Gaithersburg as City Manager from 2012 to 2020, as Deputy City Manager of Economic Development from 2001 to 2012, and as Program Manager from 1996 to 2001.
