Montgomery County Police Investigating Fatal Collision

Per MCPD:

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, January 4, 2022

Gaithersburg, MD – The Montgomery County Department of Police Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) is currently investigating a two-vehicle collision at Columbia Pike near Briggs Chaney Rd., that occurred on Monday, Jan. 3.

At approximately 6:45 p.m., Montgomery County Police and Fire-Rescue responded to the location for a call that an SUV with four occupants had collided with the rear end of a snowplow.

The black Cadillac SRX, travelling northbound on Columbia Pike, collided into the back a white Peterbilt snowplow dump truck, also travelling northbound. Upon arrival, officers determined that three of the occupants inside the Cadillac, two females and one male, were deceased.

Fire-Rescue extricated a fourth person from the rear of the Cadillac and transported him to an area hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Peterbilt truck was uninjured and remained on the scene.

The three deceased victims have been identified as 27-year-old Shawde Ajee Nayonta Wicks of Clinton, MD; 41-year-old Natasha Ann Hunter of Baltimore, MD; and 52-year-old Gary Eugene Early of Baltimore, MD.

The surviving passenger is currently listed in serious condition.

The cause of the collision is currently under investigation and may take several weeks to be completed. This is an active and ongoing investigation.
