Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a townhouse fire on the 300blk of W Deer Park Rd in Gaithersburg on Wednesday morning around 3am.
Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer reports that up to 20 people from six different townhouse units are displaced.
The cause of the fire, which began in the basement of one house and spread/caused damage to several connected homes, is currently under investigation. The damage from the fire is estimated to be $1M, including >$750K in structural and >$250K in contents.
Piringer says that “miraculously” there were no injuries. One cat was recovered and one dog is still missing.
A GoFundMe has been started to help one of the families affected by the fire.
