Fire at Senior Living Apartments Leaves Approximately 30 Units Uninhabitable

A fire at the Willow Manor At Fairland complex, in Fairland, has left approximately 30 units uninhabitable, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue PIO, Pete Piringer.

Rescue units were initially dispatched at around 11am for a fire in the stairwell of the apartment complex, which is a senior living center for adults 62 years and up.

The fire involved the first and second floor stairwell, which resulted in smoke throughout the building and some water damage. The building does have sprinklers, and the residential sprinklers did activate, but the stairwells do not have any.

The fire was quickly knocked out, but caused approximately $25K in damages and has left about 30 units uninhabitable. Emergency units are working to relocate those occupants.

There were no injuries.
