Olney: Chick-Fil-A Owner/Operator Relocating to Georgia; New Owner/Operator Taking Over This Summer

The owner/operator of Olney’s Chick-Fil-A restaurant has announced that he will be relocating to Georgia to open a new Chick-Fil-A in Savannah. In his letter to the community he wrote that a new owner would be in place by July and that the Chick-Fil-A corporate offices would be running the restaurant from April until then, asking for grace during the transition period. The full message can be seen below:

“Dear Chick-fil-A Olney Community,

Many of you may have already heard, but I am relocating back to Georgia to open a new Chick-fil-A in the Savannah area.

I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for dining with us over the last 4+ years. After spending the last twelve years as an owner/operator in Montgomery County, my move is very bitter-sweet. We are thankful for the opportunity to move back to where we grew up in Georgia so we can be closer to family. But we are very sad to leave a community in which we have made so many friends and connections over the years. Olney will always have a very special place in my heart and I thank you for so many great memories. I am so grateful for the way your families, schools, local government, community organizations, and businesses embraced my family and our restaurant. Thank you for inviting us into your lives. I pray that we lived out our purpose well: “To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us. To have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A.”

The new owner/operator of Olney is expected to be in place by July. Starting in April, the restaurant will be operated by Chick-fil-A, Inc. Please give the store extra grace during this extended period of transition. Restaurant transitions are challenging but we have a good team coming in to tackle it! Note that Chick-fil-A delivery will be discontinued for the time being and there may be a delay in Doordash and Uber Eats being offered at the beginning of the transition.

We will miss you dearly. If you find yourselves in Savannah, please stop by the new restaurant and say hello. The address is 2021 Pooler Parkway, Pooler, GA 31322. We anticipate opening in mid June.”
