Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a house fire on the 8700blk of Lochaven Dr. near Sabbath Ct, off of Warfield Rd. in Gaithersburg on Thursday around noon. First arriving units reported heavy fire in the garage.
By 1pm, Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer tweeted that the bulk of fire had been knocked-down and that MCFRS were working on some ‘hotspots’ and checking for extension.
There were no injuries reported but the family living in the home has been displaced.
The home was located in a non-hydrant area and around 85 firefighters responded to the scene. The cause of the fire has not yet been reported.
Due to the activity, Goshen Rd. was temporarily closed at Warfield Rd.
