Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a single vehicle collision at the CSX railroad overpass on 16th St. near Spring Street in Silver Spring around 5pm on Thursday. According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS, the vehicle was on fire and well involved when first responders arrived. The fire has been extinguished and one patient was transported by EMS with Priority 2 trauma.
16th Street at Lyttonsville Road is closed in both directions as a result of the collision, according to Montgomery County Police. Drivers are advised to seek an alternate route and to expect significant delays.
