Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services performed an emergency rescue Wednesday evening after a young adult suffered what appeared to be a heat related medical emergency while hiking on Billy Goat Trail A, according to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer.
As of 7:45pm Wednesday evening the patient had been transported via boat to waiting paramedics at a staging area and will likely be transported with Priority 2 injuries.
Water Rescue Boats were deployed in addition to rescuers on the trail. Temperatures were in the 90’s throughout the day and it is believed the young adult patient had been on the trail ~4/5 hours.
