Forest Estates Farmers Market in Silver Spring Returns Sunday, June 5

The Forest Estates Farmers Market at 10000 Woodland Dr. in Silver Spring returns this Sunday, June 5, after being closed the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The market runs from 10am-1pm. Additional details below per the market:

After two long pandemic years, the Forest Estates Farmers Market is re-opening THIS SUNDAY, June 5, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.! It will be next to the parking lot at Getty Park, located at the top of Belvedere Boulevard at Woodland  Drive near Holy Cross. This is also where you can pick up the map for the Forest Estates Garden Tour as of 12:30 p.m. Sunday.

Calvert Farm, the same farm that supplied the market for 10 years and still supplies our CSA weekly produce boxes, will again be the supplier, and Farmer Pam will be on-site! We will have a wide range of fresh and delicious seasonal PRODUCE, as well as BAKED GOODS (bagels, challah, cinnamon rolls, and breads) from Farm Girl Bakery in Millersville, MD! (See attached photos / “old fashioned, homemade, baked from scratch.”) 😊

Please come to a brief Welcome Ceremony at 10 a.m. with Casey Anderson (Chair) and Partap Verma (Vice Chair) of the Montgomery Planning Board, State Delegate Jared Solomon, and Councilmember-at-Large Evan Glass. We’re proud to be the first and only farmers market on Montgomery County parkland!

You will also meet Farmer Pam and our fine staff of Rifka, Lucas, Grace, and Mimi, as well as Farm Girl Bakery owner Suzy Provine and her sons Lance and Miles.

Then it’s on to the veggies and baked goods!

The market will run roughly every other Sunday through September – fall plans TBD:

    • June 5 & 19
    • July 17 & 31
    • August 14 & 28
    • September 11 & 25

PLEASE NOTE:

  1. Farmer Pam only takes CASH OR PAYPAL! (The bakery – at a separate stand – accepts cash, Paypal, and Venmo.)
  2. Please bring your own bags!
